Exhibitors Guide
This page is directed towards our contestants and exhibitors. Select any of the departments listed to the left to see a printable copy of that department's premium information.
Exhibitors and contestants must make their entries according to each department's rules, regulations & fees. Some departments such as those in Home & Garden and Poultry require pre-registration only with NO substitutions. Other departments may allow registration up to the day of the event. Check your department's rules for specific information and deadlines. All premium money will be paid no later than the first week in October. Print, fill-out and mail one of the registration forms!
The Brooklyn Fair in Brooklyn, CT now has an easy to use, updated web site for the fair-goers and exhibitors alike! Last year the Brooklyn Fair introduced on line ticket sales and advanced ride bracelets on limited release with great success. This year, they have added many new features, including an on line "premium book" for the exhibitors. This will allow those wishing to enter items into the home and garden, or livestock to exhibit, to get all of their information in one place. Previously, a combersome book was printed and distributed to prior exhibitors and by request, now it is available to everyone.
Rick Hermonot, president of the Windham County Agircultural Society, the sponsor of the Brooklyn Fair, was excited about the advancements being made. "Now the entry information is made available to more people, not limited to those in our address book. We are hoping to see more community involvement, even starting as small as having your child enter a cucmber from the garden." Hermonot continued with "Another positive to the online premium book is the reduction of printing, advancing our sustainability efforts in reducing paper waste."
Joyce Eber, fair secretary, would like to encourage anyone without computer access to contact her for any entry information needed. "One concern we had was for our exhibitors who did not have internet access, we sent a postcard last year with all exhibitors about the change. Anyone without access, wishing to receive entry information, can contact me at the fairgrounds at 779-0012, I will print the specific department/s needed and mail them to you." said Eber.
In addition to the online information is the many changes being made to the home and garden department. New and exciting contests are being introduced to coincide with society today. Areas like graphic arts, computer aided photography are just a few of the updates. The website will continually be updated as the details are worked out for the new contests. Matt Greene, 2nd vice president also oversees the home and garden department with superintendant Deb Migani. "We have been working all year on revamping and updating the home and garden department to reflect today's exhibitors. We will have more demonstrations too, including those on canning and baking techniques." Said Greene "In addition, we have reviewed entries from the past several years and eliminated categories that do not apply today."
