Home & Garden Rules

All entries must be pre-registered no later than 8/7/2024 with no exceptions

  1. Bring pre-registered entries to the Home & Garden Building on:
    Monday, August 19th | 12pm–6pm
    Tuesday, August 20th | 12pm–7pm
    Wednesday, August 21st | 9am–1pm (no exceptions)
    Food item entries are to be dropped off on Wednesday. This can include non-food entries.
  2. Judging will take place on Wednesday Evening
  3. No exhibitors are to be present while articles are being judged
  4. All premiums will be paid on or before October 1st
  5. All entries must be picked up by the following times:
    Sunday, August 25th | 6pm–8pm
    Monday, August 26th | 5pm–7pm
  6. ALL items not picked up by 7pm on Monday, August 26th, will be disposed of at the discretion of the Superintendent

THE WINDHAM COUNTY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY & BROOKLYN FAIR 
ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ARTICLES LEFT FOR EXHIBIT.

Home & Garden Exhibit Rules

  1. All articles must be made and owned by the exhibitor
  2. Articles cannot be used or have been worn
  3. Items must have been made within the twelve months preceding the Fair
  4. An exhibitor is limited to one entry under each heading.
  5. Exhibitors cannot compete for more than one premium with the same item
  6. Commercial, industrial, or professional bakers are not eligible to enter bread, pastry, or canned goods
  7. Food entered by two members of the same household of the same variety will not be judged
  8. Superintendent has the right to reject any article that is not in suitable condition for exhibiting
  9. Judges will not award premiums to articles that are not worthy unless otherwise specified. The judge’s decision is final
  10. Rosette ribbons will be awarded in the following categories:
    Best-in-Show for each Department
    Best-in-Show for each Youth Department/Category
  11. A recipe and/or list of ingredients must accompany all food products (on Brooklyn Fair Recipe Card)
  12. All exhibits must contain and conform to the exact quantity specified in the premium list. Failure to comply will disqualify such an exhibit.
  13. Exhibitors will bring their own containers for flowers
  14. Plates for vegetables will be furnished by the Fair to ensure uniformity and enhance the attractiveness of the exhibit
  15. No glass for framed handwork
  16. No coloring by number or coloring book pages
  17. All photos must be matted, no glass
  18. The decision of the judge is final
